The novel is intertwined with the narrator's present time and flashbacks from his childhood when he took care of the cattle with his brother. ![]() Mose is the narrator's brother who died in an accident when he was fourteen. He is thought to be the member of Gros Ventre tribe but, at the end, the narrator discovers that he is actually a member of Blackfeet tribe and Theresa's real father. Yellow Calf is an old man living three miles away from narrators home. AgnesĪgnes is a girl the narrator brought home as his wife but, she eventually runs away with his gun and razor. He obviously married her because of her property. She is described as a stout handsome woman with a strong and cold character. A long time has passed since his older brother's death, but he is still troubled by it. He is a member of the Native American Blackfoot tribe. The narrator of the novel is also the main character.
